Today I am baking with my daughter and remembering my mom.

I am feeling sentimental.  It's our first Christmas since Shane and I lost our mothers.  It's been a sorrowful year and a little tough to get into the holiday spirit.  I wanted to share this photo from our dining room.  Shane made the plate rack.  It holds some very dear treasures from both of our mothers plus my grandmothers.  It is my hope that one day this plate rack, just as it is, will be displayed on a wall in my own daughter's dining room as a tribute to the women who came before her.
